They are insoluble in most solvents; they are soluble exclusively in highly fluorinated fluids and in some supercritical fluids such as CO2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thermal and Oxidative Stability<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At 355\u00b0C , the decomposition rate is about 0.03% by weight per day. At 399\u00b0C , the rate of decomposition increases to 1.3 percent by weight per day. When tested under nitrogen for six hours at 371\u00b0C , Krytox\u2122 showed no significant change in viscosity.<\/p>\n<p>The presence of air does not substantially reduce the decomposition point of Krytox \u2122 oils.
