For this reason, it integrates specific technical elements, including a  <\/span><b>wand<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to <\/span><b>adjust the vessel&#8217;s height<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>rudder<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the <\/span><b>foil<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, i.e., the <\/span><b>wings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> positioned beneath the boat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This configuration also influenced the construction process. The boat was therefore built with  <\/span><b>layers of flax<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>glass<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, without inserting the <\/span><b>core<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as a <\/span><b>continuous core<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between the <\/span><b>laminate skins<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This choice made controlling the <\/span><b>fiber positioning and lamination phases<\/b> even more important<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The hull&#8217;s shape, very  <\/span><b>vertical<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, required the use of <\/span><b>spray fixatives<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to keep the <\/span><b>fabrics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the <\/span><b>correct position<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> before <\/span><b>lamination<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fibers had to remain in place, adhere to the hull geometry, and <\/span><b>not fold back<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  on themselves during assembly. The  <\/span><b>Tabbing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> then allowed<\/span><b> further reinforcement<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the<\/span><b> boat<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>connection<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the <\/span><b>structures to the hull<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>mast step<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also required <\/span><b>structural bonding<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Being the structure that supports the vessel&#8217;s mast, it had to be  <\/span><b>fitted<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>bonded<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with an <\/span><b>appropriate adhesive<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Their use was particularly useful because Kraken&#8217;s hull shape is very vertical: without proper fixing, the pieces would have risked moving or folding back on themselves during assembly. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These products therefore had a practical and very precise function: <\/span><b>keeping fibers and materials in position before <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/mascherpa.it\/en\/blog\/36002\/\"><b>infusion<\/b><\/a><b> and lamination<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The difference between the two spray fixatives is as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Infutac\u2122<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was used primarily on <\/span><b>fibers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Fogtac\u2122<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was used more specifically on <\/span><b>core strips<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> inserted in certain areas of the boat.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although it should be noted that the two products are fairly interchangeable. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This distinction is an important detail because it shows how the construction was not managed simply by choosing &#8220;<\/span><b>a spray adhesive<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,&#8221; The final quality of the laminate depends on how the fibers are positioned, compacted, and impregnated.
