Assembly paste for wheel-axle assembly in trains

Discover how a specific assembly paste facilitates press-fitting of wheels onto axles, controlling friction and protecting metal surfaces.

MOLYKOTE® G-N Plus Paste: application of an anti-seize paste during wheel-axle assembly in trains.

Assembly pastes for wheel-axles in the railway sector

Friction control and protection during assembly

Assembly pastes for wheel-axle assembly in trains promote more uniform pressing and protect metal surfaces during mating phases.

MOLYKOTE® G-N Plus is applied to the axle after cleaning the contact areas and distributed without excess. The low coefficient of friction, high load-carrying capacity, and protection from fretting corrosion support process reliability.

Friction reduction
during pressing

The low coefficient of friction promotes smoother sliding between wheel and axle during press-fitting.

Protection of
metal surfaces

The assembly paste helps prevent scoring and fretting corrosion, protecting surfaces subjected to high contact pressures.

High load-carrying
capacity

The load-carrying capacity is verified through testing with a four-ball machine according to DIN 51350, supporting high-stress applications.
