TECHNOLOGIES AND SOLUTIONS COMPLIANT WITH AEROSPACE AND DEFENSE SPECIFICATIONS
Our qualified materials and high-tech specialty lubricants are approved and listed for the most stringent military (MIL), space (NASA low outgassing), and civil (Boeing/Airbus) standards.
Material solutions for the aerospace and defense industry
Aerospace & defence applications: from aircraft to satellites
Aircraft
Aircraft and Helicopters: materials compliant with civil aviation specifications
From carbon fuselages to cabin interiors, avionics, and engines: every aircraft component must comply with the manufacturer’s material specifications. Mascherpa provides structural adhesives, sealants, coatings, and lubricants approved or listed in civil aviation OEM specifications for production, assembly, and maintenance.

Satellite
Rockets and Satellites: ultra-low outgassing space-grade solutions
In the vacuum of space, materials must not release mass or deposit condensables on optics and sensors (outgassing), and must guarantee lubrication and sealing for the entire operational life without the possibility of maintenance. Mascherpa space-grade products meet NASA requirements according to ASTM E595.

NEXT Partnership with Skyward Experimental Rocketry
Next Skyward
Skyward Experimental Rocketry is the Politecnico di Milano association that since 2012 has been designing and launching sounding rockets for international competitions such as EUROC, the European Rocketry Challenge. As a main partner, Mascherpa provides materials for three critical areas of the rocket: high-performance lubricants for the ignition sequence of the liquid propellant engine, conformal coatings for the protection of onboard electronics, and systems for the sustainable production of composite structures.
On the liquid propellant engine (nitrous oxide and ethanol), Molykote HP-300 grease, resistant to solvent fluids like ethanol, maintained its lubricating properties for over six ignition and wash cycles during Cold Flow Tests, preventing pressure spikes that cause hard starts during ignition.
On the onboard electronics, the boards are protected with Electrolube conformal coatings and DOWSIL 744 silicone sealant, which stiffened the connections most prone to failure from repeated disconnections, ensuring a seal even at -20 °C and in the presence of moisture.
On the composite structures, carbon fiber laminated on 3D molds, the team uses PTFE release film to facilitate release from the model and a Diasil 45 reusable vacuum bag, which reduces waste during prototyping phases. For bonding between composite and aluminum, the Araldite AW 4858 + HW 4858 epoxy system ensures a thin, uniform bond thickness and the mechanical strength required in the most critical phases, such as parachute deployment, thanks to a 60-minute pot life that allows the necessary time for correct component positioning.
Military
Military and Defence: MIL and NSN listed materials for defense
Defense missions by air, land, and sea, from submarines to armored vehicles, require materials that maintain performance under extreme conditions (high pressure, desert heat, arctic cold, continuous vibration) and comply with MIL-SPEC supply chain standards, often with multi-year storage requirements. Mascherpa provides MIL-listed and NSN/NATO-coded adhesives, sealants, coatings, and lubricants.

Avionics Display
Avionics Display: protection and thermal management for flight displays
Flight displays, cockpit instrumentation, and ground control consoles must remain readable and reliable in the presence of vibration, thermal fluctuations, and moisture. Low mechanical stress coatings are needed to avoid damaging optical panels, dielectric gels for the most delicate components, and conformal coatings for the protection of backlight connectors. Dowsil solutions for avionics meet these three requirements with a single product range.

Aerospace & defence specifications: civil aviation, defense, and space
Standards in the aerospace & defence sector are extremely high, and having solutions compliant with specific requirements is the foundation of every application: from civil aviation OEM approvals (Airbus, Boeing, Bell…), to MIL military specifications (with NATO NSN coding), to NASA outgassing requirements for space. We have compiled the list of listed or approved products for each type of certification and application. Choose your field of application and download the list.
