Introduction

Electrical technology is constantly developing with new alloys, plastics and customer demands. However, it is still very complex to solve the root cause of the switch malfunction, which is the inability to produce a perfectly smooth metal contact surface.

Extends the life of electrical contacts

  • When applied to such surfaces, contact lubricants fill all surface imperfections. Metal interfaces become completely uniform and smooth, in turn improving electrical and contact performance as well as extending contact life by reducing hot spots, frettage, and arcing.

Prevent arcing

  • By filling air gaps between the contacts, lubricants greatly increase the effective surface area, in turn preventing arcing and related temperature rise and oxide formation. They also provide a barrier to air contamination and reduce the effects of friction by facilitating smooth movement.
