SAERTEX was able to achieve better mechanical values and easier material handling by further developing unidirectional fabrics

SAERTEX EASY DRAPE UD is a new unidirectional fabric that is not only virtually wave-free, but can also be processed 15 percent faster. The newly developed glass fiber reinforcement material can be used in the production of rotor blades for wind turbines and thus meets all the high requirements of the field from wind energy. Our new Glass UD fabrics enable us to meet the needs of the market while ensuring our customers better quality of their composite components.

Eliminating creases and waves from the fabric is critical to achieving this extraordinary strength because it is near these creases that the fabric is weakest; a fabric that is perfectly free of waves is a stronger fabric.

Processing of the 15% faster

Unidirectional fabric features simple draping and laying without waves and folds in the mold, which simplifies fabric processing.

Quality without waves

Specially stretched fibers have no waves in the fabric and subsequently in the laminate itself. This prevents any weaknesses in the laminate. The fabric has better mechanical properties.

Tensile strength 20% higher

Easy Drape UD has a higher load-bearing capacity than traditional UD Glass fabrics.
