The marine industry is undergoing a transformation thanks to advanced marine composite materials, and SAERTEX® is at the forefront with its innovative solutions .
A world leader in the production of multiaxial reinforcements, SAERTEX® offers materials that replace steel and aluminum, improving the light weight, corrosion resistance, and performance of boats.
SAERTEX®’s NCF (Non Crimp Fabric) fabrics, made from glass, carbon, or aramid fibers, enable the construction of lighter and stronger hulls, superstructures, and interior components.
These materials provide significant energy savings, reducing fuel consumption and environmental impact, while offering greater durability over time.

High-performance materials for boating

The use of composite materials for boating is critical to improving the performance of boats.
With SAERTEX® products such as SAERcore® and SAERfix®, the marine industry has materials with high mechanical properties that reduce weight without compromising strength.
SAERcore® is a material with integrated resin flow, which enables faster manufacturing process, especially with technologies such as RTM (Resin Transfer Molding), used to make large components with high quality and precision.

SAERfix® and SAERfoam®: innovation in manufacturing

SAERfix®, the self-adhesive fabric from SAERTEX®, is a revolutionary solution that eliminates the need for spray glues, greatly simplifying the manufacturing process.
This makes it faster to produce complex components such as hulls and decks, reducing costs and improving laminate quality, without being harmful to workers or the environment.
SAERflow®, the internal resin drainage system, combines a lightweight synthetic structure with glass reinforcement.
This product is perfect for transitioning from the HLU (manual) process to the infusion process.
The system provides excellent resin flow, time and money savings, excellent drapability, and generally requires only one layer, even in sandwich structures.
SAERfoam®, on the other hand, is a structural core material with fiberglass bridges that is lighter and stronger than PVC or balsa.
With its combination of ultralight foam and 3D fiberglass reinforcements, it offers greater mechanical strength and flexibility, making it ideal for below-the-waterline applications.

NESSIE project: an example of success

The NESSIE project, developed in collaboration with the iXblue shipyard, is an example of the use of SAERTEX® composite materials to build large vessels.
NESSIE, which is 46 meters long and 10 meters wide, is set to become the world’s largest workboat built entirely from marine composite materials.
The use of SAERfix® has reduced processing time and improved production efficiency, offering a 10 percent savings in labor costs.

Sustainability in boating

SAERTEX® not only improves boat performance, but also promotes sustainability.
The use of composite materials for lightweight boating reduces fossil fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Projects such as Future of the Fjords and Rygerelektra, two all-electric catamarans made of carbon fiber, demonstrate SAERTEX®’s commitment to creating sustainable solutions for the future of marine transportation.

Technical support and tailored services

SAERTEX® also offers extensive technical support to its customers, from material selection to project implementation.
With certified testing laboratories, SAERTEX® guarantees.
