As the need for environmental protection increases, automakers are forced to develop more efficient and environmentally friendly engines. In addition to electrification, engine downsizing is the most widely used method of achieving this goal, but smaller engines require materials that can withstand higher temperatures.
This webinar reviews a new high-temperature resistant lubricant coating for metal gaskets, such as those in the exhaust manifold; in addition, this new coating is suitable for ‘direct application to the metal coil.
Engine tests at over 600°C revealed that exhaust manifold gaskets coated with the new lubricant coating offered sufficient sealing and anti-seize properties to meet the requirements of current EURO 6 emission specifications.
