The Future Starts Here

The Revel Sailing Team, composed of students from the Polo Nautico of the University of Genoa – La Spezia branch, developed an approximately 4-meter competition skiff made from innovative and sustainable materials. The project, created with the goal of reducing the environmental impact of shipbuilding, required that 70 percent of the materials used be natural, recycled or recyclable, according to the 1001VELAcupcompetition regulations.

Mascherpa, as a technical partner, provided advanced solutions for the construction of the skiff, selecting high-performance materials with low environmental impact such as Saertex reinforcement fabrics, 3DCore core materials, Huntsman advanced resins with biomass-derived elements, the Araldite structural adhesives and Diatex Consumables.

The result? An innovative, sustainable, and high-performing boat that successfully competed in the 1001VELAcup, ranking among the top teams.
