A transparent, fire-resistant resin for your LEDs

Electrolube ‘s UR5641 is a two-component, semi-rigid, optically clear fire-resistant polyurethane resin that meets the UL94 V-0 standard. With a carefully selected blend of components, UR5641 is an extremely durable, low-viscosity system that can be used for a wide variety of applications.

The new resin is suitable for the protection of LED fixtures exposed to hazardous atmospheres, such as emergency lighting or lighting intended for installation in classified environments.

UR5641 has the added advantage of having excellent flame retardant properties. Its outstanding properties make it suitable for the protection of LED fixtures that are located in hazardous environments. Traditional liquid flame retardants tend to be halogenated, while Electrolube ‘s UR5641 contains no halogens.

Conventional resins that claim to be flame retardant and optically transparent are actually light amber in color when cured. Many of these resins are based on epoxy technology that tends to yellow. Electrolube’s UR5641 is based on the aliphatic chemistry of urethane, which is naturally resistant to the yellowing effects of natural light, making it useful in both outdoor and indoor applications
