JEC World 2023: Huntsman Advanced Materials’ win for the Renewable Energy category.

As the main Italian distributors of Huntsman Araldite, we are more than proud to announce the awarding of the ARALDITE® 2081 adhesive for the Renewable Energy category at JEC World 2023. We are equally proud and grateful to have helped promote and develop the applications of Huntsman Araldite products over these years of collaboration.

JEC World: the event of the year

JEC World, held in Paris April 25-27, is a global trade show dedicated to composites and their applications. This major event in the market hosted the all the major players, promoting a spirit of innovation. The event featured new product launches, award ceremonies, startup competitions, lectures, demonstrations and networking opportunities.

In addition to the many activities there was an award ceremony for the winners of the JEC Awards, which included the following Huntsman Araldite.

JEC World Awards 2023

The adhesive
ARALDITE® 2081
has been awarded the JEC World Award 2023 in the Renewable Energy category.

This structural acrylic adhesive is distinguished by three main features:

• GHS classification ensuring more pleasant use with significant savings on protective equipment and risk management measures
• A flash point above 95°C, making the product nonflammable, simplifies storage and transportation, and also reduces costs
• Reducedodor and toxicity

These three features do not come at the expense of performance, as the adhesive allows strong adhesion to most plastic, composite, and metal substrates without requiring time-consuming specific surface preparation, consequently significantly reducing production time. In addition, Huntsman with the introduction of a new folding, sustainable, high-performance packaging for its adhesives is able to reduce plastic waste by 75% compared to traditional packaging without compromising performance.

An expanded range of acrylic adhesives: ARALDITE® 2080

ARALDITE® 2080 expands Huntsman’s range of acrylic adhesives. LikeARALDITE® 2081, ARALDITE® 2080 is a primerless, nonflammable, low-odor structural acrylic adhesive withexceptional bond strength and fast reactivity time. These new acrylic adhesives have favorable health and safety characteristics.

Both adhesives solve many common problems that manufacturers have faced with the use of methyl methacrylate (MMA), polyurethane (PU) and other traditional adhesives, such as:

• Flammability issues
• High toxicity profiles
• Increased surface preparation time
